iphone 15 pro battery drain IOS17.1

i just bought an iPhone 15 pro and I’m experiencing faster than normal battery drainage. I thought the iOS 17.1 update was meant to fix it but it didn’t. My battery is worse than the 11 pro max. As I’m writing this post my battery went down 2 percent (in 4 minutes)

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17

The other day I turned my phone off and turned it back on and saw my battery go from 48% to 38% out of no where. It then dropped again to 33%, and I’ve tried everything to fix the issue but I’m still having sudden drops in battery percentage. Is anyone else experiencing sudden drops in the battery percentage?

I am very concerned. I bought the iPhone 15 pro today. I downloaded all my stuff from my old phone. The battery went down of 30%. The phone is so warm since… It’s scary. I feel the phone is about to explode. I regret my choice. I’ve always been an iPhone owner. Maybe this one is the last one !

To be honest when I first bought the 15 pro max the battery life was fine. It would barely budge through out the day. When I updated it to 17.1 that’s when I noticed the battery is draining very rapidly. I’ll fully charge my phone to full, turn off all back ground apps and close everything before bed, and I’ll wake up to about 61% power. My 13 pro max’s battery life was way better than this.

Subject: Urgent Battery Drain Issue on iPhone 15 Pro

Dear Apple Team,

I am writing to express my severe dissatisfaction with the recurring battery drain problem on the iPhone 15 Pro.

A couple of years back, I faced a similar issue with the iPhone 13 Pro. However, a simple reset of all settings rectified the problem and made the functioning pretty smooth.

Fast forward to now, the same problem has arisen with the iPhone 15 Pro, but this time, the tried and tested method seems futile.

I am disgusted to report that this isn’t an isolated problem. An increasing number of iPhone 15 Pro users have reported identical issues, each one adding to our collective frustration. Our wallets suffer while our materials get destroyed.

We are collectively gathering evidence of these malfunctions. If necessary, we will forward this information along to force recognition of our grievances, since our high-end, expensive phones are conflicting with their inherent promises of longevity and reliability.

If Apple chooses to remain nonchalant about this serious issue, rest assured, we have other means to register our protest.

Awaiting your swift and favorable response,

You might want to look at this article:

I switch from an iPhone 11 Pro to an iPhone 15 Pro and am absolutely blown away by how much better the battery is.

Going down 2% in 4 minutes is, by itself, not useful data. That could be quite normal, especially if it then drops only 2% in the next hour.

Go to Settings>Battery and look at what's using your battery.

I've been up for 2hrs so far today, I haven't done anything extra today besides use some audio in the background while I walk my dog and make breakfast, and I'm down to 80%. I can't make it through an entire day with one charge, and this phone is about 1 month old. WTF.

You just have to do factory reset just in settings reset all settings

To apps the photos all it will be the same but it’s just the settings

And after that, drain your battery completely and charge it completely and it will definitely 100% help

after that apply you’re settings .. background app refresh turn it off

chaim195,have you checked your ph storage capacity to make sure you have enough head room. If you have added a large amount of new apps and have a huge supply of undeleted email(with pictures) messages with same undeleted ph recents and voice mail which all use a lot of power when all added together but if nothing has changed then it’s a puzzle.

Although that advice is good, your reason is not quite right. Large amounts of data don't have a significant effect on battery usage once they are already stored on the phone. Having insufficient free storage space will affect how smoothly the phone works and can potentially lead to data loss.

100% an issue. I did not read all these replies but the few I skimmed that are suggesting storage capacity and whatnot would be completely unrelated.

I use my iPhone to shoot content and stream. Shooting video I get about a third of the battery time compared to my iPhone 14 Pro that was just about a year old. Same video recording settings. Streaming on TikTok about half the battery time.

I am sure this will be one of those issues they resolve with an iOS software update in the near feature, I doubt it's the hardware itself.

Same problem here. At first I thought it was something from old iPhone (bloat) transferred to this one via backup restore. So I decided to erase and reinstall everything manually, I didn’t even restored settings or anything else.

Now I think is something else. Battery drainage is based on user account and not by apps, settings or cellular signal…. You simply deserve so much battery performance.
