iphone 15 pro battery drain IOS17.1

i just bought an iPhone 15 pro and I’m experiencing faster than normal battery drainage. I thought the iOS 17.1 update was meant to fix it but it didn’t. My battery is worse than the 11 pro max. As I’m writing this post my battery went down 2 percent (in 4 minutes)

Using: iPhone 15 Pro Max

I was dealing with the same situation. My battery was dying SO fast. I went to Settings>General>Background App Refresh and toggled it to off and now my battery has not only lasted all day but I’m only at 79%. And I use my phone pretty heavily. I also just got it a couple days ago; so with getting it all set up and all I was using it more than normal, but still.. it shouldn’t have been dying so quickly. Thank the stars it’s under control now. It made 110% difference.

Issue is Apple software update.

I saw this issue battery drain with no all refresh with 15pro out the box.

then update came out. Issue gone.

then fine for many weeks.

then recent (week or so) 17.1.2 patches phone and battery issue back again.

drains from full to 20% over night with barely any use.

im going to find out how to roll back patch to 17.1.1

I bought 15 pro recently and the battery is a huge problem. It drains even faster than my old iphone 11. Any suggestions how do I fix or if this is a common issue through out 15 pro community?

My iPhone 15 Pro has fantastic battery life. You might find that, for the first couple of days, it's draining more quickly than you might expect because it's doing a lot of background tasks related to the initial set up.

100% an issue. I did not read all these replies but the few I skimmed that are suggesting storage capacity and whatnot would be completely unrelated.

I use my iPhone to shoot content and stream. Shooting video I get about a third of the battery time compared to my iPhone 14 Pro that was just about a year old. Same video recording settings. Streaming on TikTok about half the battery time.

I am sure this will be one of those issues they resolve with an iOS software update in the near feature, I doubt it's the hardware itself.

My day 1 released Pro 15 was battery whacked then Apple released an update not long after lunch and magically the battery was fine. 17.1.1 was operating perfectly fine no battery drain. It lasted amazingly long. Much better than my previous 13 pro. 17.1.2 patch and the battery is back to problems again. I have all background everything off. I am in low power mode. Last night it drained in low power mode from 70% to 30% off charge This is an apple issue. It is not an issue they need to fix it. 17.1.1 was perfectly fine. I can’t believe the size of Apple does these things. Amazing amazing. Samsung? Who am I kidding I can’t leave Apple.

Same problem here. At first I thought it was something from old iPhone (bloat) transferred to this one via backup restore. So I decided to erase and reinstall everything manually, I didn’t even restored settings or anything else.

Now I think is something else. Battery drainage is based on user account and not by apps, settings or cellular signal…. You simply deserve so much battery performance.

chaim195,have you checked your ph storage capacity to make sure you have enough head room. If you have added a large amount of new apps and have a huge supply of undeleted email(with pictures) messages with same undeleted ph recents and voice mail which all use a lot of power when all added together but if nothing has changed then it’s a puzzle.

Although that advice is good, your reason is not quite right. Large amounts of data don't have a significant effect on battery usage once they are already stored on the phone. Having insufficient free storage space will affect how smoothly the phone works and can potentially lead to data loss.
