Taking pictures on iPhone

Does every picture taken on my iPhone 14 Pro Max automatically get stored on my iPhone? Or is there a way to choose what pictures I keep and the pictures I do not want to keep are not?

After taking one or more pictures, you can see the result(s) (in portait mode at bottom left, in landscape mode at bottom right, if you rotate your iPhone rotate counterclockwise) and decide to delete it/them (before it/they go to your camera roll).

Or, you can choose to delete it/them from your camera roll later (in this case, it /they go to your Recently Deleted folder (they are stored there for 30 days, unless you decide to delete them in advance) .

If you mean something different, please better explain your needs.

Thanks for getting back on this! I am new to this platform ( X-Android 3 weeks ago ) and someone said that when you take a picture, like you just wanted to share something with a friend, you take the picture and send it. But they said there was an icon somewhere on the picture, or camera mode or something that you would need to click on to save that photo to your collection. Otherwise, its a 1 and done picture that does not get saved. I could be wrong, but that was how it seemed to be explained.
