iPhone 15 Pro Max not charging

Hi, I have recently purchased an IPhone 15 Pro Max and have been using it for the last week. Yesterday I plugged it in to charge using the Apple provided USB-C charging cable and it would not charge.

Fortunately I can still charge using a wireless charger but ideally I’d like to know if anyone else was experiencing this issue?

And if so how did they fix it😕

Iphone was purchased brand new from the Apple Store and I have not dropped it, damaged it at all in the week or so I’ve owned it, very disappointed something so new has stopped working so soon.

**update**

although some time ago now I did take the IPhone 15 Pro Max to the Apple Store and they actually informed me that this is becoming a common issue. There was nothing they could do to fix it so gave me a new phone as a replacement.

It seems to be some sort of manufacturing error

Experiencing the same challenge on a 10 day old 15 Pro Max. Upon initial plug in it was charging but turned off while still connected and using. I’m in the car on a road trip so it’s all converted power.

Researched the problem on forums.

tried soft reset (vol up, vol down, hold power until apple). Unsuccessful.

tried power off reboot. Unsuccessful.

tried apple provided usb-c to usb-c. Unsuccessful.

tried Anker usb-a to usb-c. Unsuccessful.

tried the above while connected to cables during reboots/soft resets. Unsuccessful.

Anker power brick MagSafe 622 usb-c to usb-c WORKS.

MagSafe works fine.

all of this is being done currently in the car on a road trip via two different power sources.

I purchased my phone from Argos 3 months ago, this issue started last week.

I went to my nearest Apple Store last week and was told it’s a common problem with this model, he cleaned the contacts and said it should be fine, it was for about 48 hours. I went back last night another colleague said Apple are trying to sort it in a upcoming update, I said that’s no use to me, the phone wouldn’t charge in store, she did a soft rest then it worked, so whilst still there I unplugged and replugged a few times it stopped again.

she said it will charge with MagSafe I said I shouldn’t have to fork out for a MagSafe in the hope that Apple resolve it.

I said I’m sure it’s not happening to every 15 pro max and continued with the phone is 3 months old, it’s not doing what it should do and I want to exercise my right for a replacement. She asked if I got it from that store I said no I got it from Argos. She advised it I want a replacement to take it back there.

I’ve contacted Argos via online chat, explained I’ve been advised to take it back. I now have the option of full refund or exchange.

id advise anyone to do the same

My business heavily relies on constant phone communication, so it’s crucial for me to have my phone charged and ready at all times. This morning I encountered a charging issue with my device which was quite exasperating since I am not a tech expert and I don't know why would this happen to such a premium device but a thing known as force restart did the trick for me ( press vol up then down, after this hold side button until apple logo appears ) from this guide iPhone 15 Pro Max not Charging ( Solved in 8 Steps ). Hope if this can fix yours too.

This same thing happened to me and it was brand new from AT&T and in two months it started saying liquid detected in connector to unplug etc but it never got wet and finally it would only charge on wireless pad I had to hit and they sent me to geek squad which took a month for them just to order me a new phone. Now my new one is having similar issues with my car charger that I bought on apples site that is compatible. It now says I use accessory too much power and I have to unplug it and plug it back in several times to get it to work. There has to be a problem with the charging capabilities of the new I phone
