iPhone 15 Pro Max not charging

My business heavily relies on constant phone communication, so it’s crucial for me to have my phone charged and ready at all times. This morning I encountered a charging issue with my device which was quite exasperating since I am not a tech expert and I don't know why would this happen to such a premium device but a thing known as force restart did the trick for me ( press vol up then down, after this hold side button until apple logo appears ) from this guide iPhone 15 Pro Max not Charging ( Solved in 8 Steps ). Thank you. I have the 15 but it started happening last night. And I was checking all my plugs, thinking that it’s an electrical issue. I got my phone in December so it’s brand news. But your suggestion helped. Why does that happen? And should I take it to the Apple Store?

I have the same issue. Though a soft reset (vol up, vol down, hold power until it reset), seemed to solve the problem (not sure how long for as only just tried this). Currently charging via cable. I assume this is a software issue in my case. Hope it helps you too.

Hello! Same issue as everyone else. Is this a bug? I tried the reset and no response. I got my phone in November. The issue started last night.

Experiencing the same challenge on a 10 day old 15 Pro Max. Upon initial plug in it was charging but turned off while still connected and using. I’m in the car on a road trip so it’s all converted power.

Researched the problem on forums.

tried soft reset (vol up, vol down, hold power until apple). Unsuccessful.

tried power off reboot. Unsuccessful.

tried apple provided usb-c to usb-c. Unsuccessful.

tried Anker usb-a to usb-c. Unsuccessful.

tried the above while connected to cables during reboots/soft resets. Unsuccessful.

Anker power brick MagSafe 622 usb-c to usb-c WORKS.

MagSafe works fine.

all of this is being done currently in the car on a road trip via two different power sources.

I got my iPhone 15 Pro in mid December and experienced the charging issue for the first time today. Tried several different cables and nothing worked. I restarted the phone and it is charging now.

Just experience this today, woke up low battery and charge my phone. It didn’t work, tried using other outlet, adapters, and wires still. Did a hard reset, after a while it works. Hopefully not happening again 🫣

Got my iphone 15 pro max a couple weeks after it came out. recently have started to have the issue where when my phone is down to -5% when plugged in it will not charge. Tried restarting the phone and using other cords and eventually the charging will start after switching the phone on and off and switching between cords but it’s a hassle. Apple please fix this.

New 15 Pro Max, purchased from Apple directly a week ago . Started happening today. Soft reset didn’t fix. Power cycle didn’t fix. Turned off optimized battery didn’t fix.

still charges via MagSafe.

I've had same problems, same temporary fixes. Numerous different cables feel like they don't make a good connection in the phone port. HAS APPLE HELPED ANYONE???

Im having the same issue, reset it, and its charging but now I don't trust this phone to charge every time, and I don't appreciate the time AWAY FROM WORK to look up how to fix this on a work day

I have the same issue: 15PM

The first time, before going to bed plugged in phone into the charger, and saw it started charging, but the next day woke up with 40% left. So I think it stopped charging by itself.

Restart/reset the phone as suggested; not working.

The phone was charged using the USB-C cable through a computer port, and it worked. After this, plugging into the wall also worked.

The second time, same as above, after connecting to the computer, which started the charge, then the wall plug did not work.

--- I put the setting to 'optimized charging', I am assuming that this is a settings-related charging issue, software. Since they are showing the charge cycles for the users, I hope they fix this soon, because this is a big reliability issue.

Hi , I have the same issue and I’ve ordered directly through Apple Store brand new iPhone 15 pro Max , 2 TB , paid it and keep it safe , I didn’t get the Apple care since I take care of it but it does have manufacturer warranty and I went to Apple Store but charging just doesn’t work and they can only do repair or try to do it but your phone is open and busted after that so they told me to call Apple support which I did and I waited for a while and they just told me I have limited warranty and they won’t replace my phone . I asked for someone else on the phone , said it’s problem with the phone - I need a replacement since I have 1 year warranty. They told me to ship it to them to repair it . So I’m going to be without a phone and God knows when to get it back ? Something I got brand new and almost $2000 ?? I’ve complained and They hang up on me.

My daughter is currently having this issue! Woke up at 5 am and was going to have to be a few hours work to get a replacement. Kind of surprised that for one person this started in October but the rest of us are all experiencing it now.
