Hi, my issue is different in some ways, but similar enough to add to this thread. Since OS Sonoma 14.2.1, music downloaded post upgrade will not play on my iMac. Music downloaded pre upgrade plays as expected. The same purchases on my iPhone also play as expected. This problem only occurs on the iMac.
One of my albums was a prepurchase where the songs would arrive every few weeks. Two of the songs were downloaded pre OS Sonoma 14.2.1. They continued to play post OS Sonoma upgrade. A third song came in after the upgrade and it alone would not play. I see that third song both in the file system (with the other songs grouped according to the album) as well as in the Music app, but clicking on play does nothing. No error message. I can even go to the iTunes store, find the downloaded song and click on it there to play. It will not play even with that entry point.
Here is the interesting part. I deleted all the recently downloaded music, went to the iTunes store and re-downloaded it. It worked!....but only for a few hours. What was even more interesting was that the two songs mentioned above, part of the prepurchased album that were downloaded before the OS Sonoma upgrade, and played without issue both before and after the OS upgrade, now do not work! So anything downloaded since the Sonoma 14.2.1 upgrade does not play.
