How to really, truly DISABLE Live mode button in iOS camera?
Many well-meaning people have opined that one simply needs to set
Settings->Canera->Preserve Settings->Live Mode to ON
to permanently turn off Live Mode. Well, no, it doesn’t. All that does is keep Camera from automatically turning Live Mode on. The button to turn Live Mode on is still there. It is disabling that button that I’m interested in. It is so easy—insanely easy—to inadvertently brush against the display in such a way that you turn Live Mode on. And you won’t even know you’ve done it. Until you want to, say, share that photo, or zoom into detail, and then, SHOOT! I was in Live Mode again! And now I have to—again—deal with those photos again.
Frankly, I have no use for live mode. If I want video, I just take video. And when I do unknowingly take Live Mode photos it’s a pain. I have to manually convert them to do anything useful with them.
At least iOS should have an option to convert in-place Live Mode photos. Just select them and go. Use the first frame for the key frame. That’s what I intended anyway.
Please, Apple: let us disable the Live Mode button in Camera. Please?
Thank you.
