Does the “live” feature for taking photos have any useful purpose? I hate it!

I thought I had disabled it. I went through the steps suggested. Camera setting, go to ‘live photo’ option and turn on, open camera and tap the little logo in the upper right to turn off ‘live’ setting. It worked. But just now I took a picture and it was back to ‘live’ setting. Maybe the latest update reset to the other settings? Anyone else hate this feature and wish it was gone?

I too am not a “fan” of it.

While it indeed has applications for which I DO employ it, I don’t want it as my “default” mode.

Go to Settings -> Camera -> Preserve Settings -> Live Photo.

Somewhat counter-intuitively, turn the switch “on.”

This will “maintain” your last-used setting rather than automatically reverting back to “live.”
