Permanently disabling Live Photos via settings does not work.

Previous Apple forum questions for disabling the Live Photo via camera settings say to go to settings and turn then camera "preserve settings" with Live Photo button off. This does not work in combination with turning off live photos on the camera screen itself. Live photos keeps being the default, no matter what. Any suggestions?

It doesn't seem to be an Apple glitch, since it works for me. There's something that you're doing that's different.

I have Live Photos turned off:

And in Settings>Camera>Preserve Settings, I have Live Photos turned on

so it will preserve those settings.

Is this what you have done?

Hold it-- I have just re-read your statement, "turn then camera "preserve settings" with Live Photo button off," and I'm now thinking that you have turned OFF "Preserve Settings>Live Photo?" If that's the correct interpretation, that would explain why your settings are not preserved.

Is this right?

It works for me. Turn Live Photo off in the Camera app, then turn on the option to Preserve the setting for Live Photos. If you turn off the Preserve Setting for Live Photos, it will automatically turn it on when launching the camera.
