Volume up and down button don't work while listening to WhatsApp voice notes. I have 15 pro max. it is really annoying as I have to restart the app or do the volume thing from control center. What's the solution for this?

The below mentioned solution worked for me.
Go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and toggle on Change with Buttons.
As some others have written, i simply restarted my new 15 Pro, and the volume buttons worked fine in WA.......looks silly though, but it worked
I was facing this very annoying bug too for a few days. I restarted my phone and it solved this issue. Hope that works for you too :)
I had this issue. Go to Apple Store, search Whatsapp- click update - restart your phone - issue resolved
For me it has passed 6 hours after switching off power and restarting my iPhone 11 and the speaker volume up/down buttons are working in WhatsApp. If the problem is not solved, you may contact Apple customer support.

The solution are:
Go to setting - whatsapp - microphone torn off then turn on then retreat your iPhone

iPhone 13, had same issue, restarting the phone worked.
I saw a comment here that suggested you restart your iPhone and the problem goes away. I just did and it worked.
You don’t have to restart. Just minimize the app and it should work

The problem appears to be temporarily resolved by restarting the phone or updating to the latest versions of iOS/WhatsApp. However, this fix only seems to work for a brief period before the issue reoccurs. I am confident that the issue lies with WhatsApp rather than Apple, as the volume functions correctly once you exit the WhatsApp application.

Make Sure Your iPhone's Volume Buttons Are Enabled
To check this, head to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and toggle on Change with Buttons. If this isn't enabled, this could be why your volume buttons aren't working.
The same is happening with me. I fixed rebooting the IPhone but 100% agree that this should be fixed by Apple/WhatsApp
I just updated my iPhone14 Pro to the latest ios17.1.x and WA volume buttons are working as before. Suggest all do the same.
