Volume button not working on WhatsApp on iPhone

It IS really annoying!!!! I also have the issue with instagram and facebook, regular calls and FaceTime. I have iPhone 14 Plus currently on iOS 17.1.1. I think it’s a glitch from the iOS 17 itself. For me, the issue started with iOS 17.0.3. I thought the new versions would fix that bug… but guess not!! I have restarted the device multiple times, I’ve changed the sounds and volume settings multiple times, I have deleted apps and download them again and nothing seems to work!!!!!

As I have already replied, my brother has i phone 13 with latest ios but old whatsapp version and he is not facing any issues. So looks like a whatsapp issue to me.

WhatsApp is saying it is an apple issue while apple says that it is a whatsapp issue.

I just tried it.Its true.Closed Whatsapp and then tried to play and audio or video in chat.I could increase or decrease the volume. Then viewed a status. Retested,and it was no longer working. I am on 14 Pro Max iOS17.1.1

Atleast whatsapp has now acknowledged that issue is at their end.

It is noted that such a problem on volume control is not there while using other Apps viz., YouTube, Facebook, Smule, StarMaker, etc.. in the same iPhone; which clearly means it is a problem with WatsApp only. Hence W’App needs to attend to this.

I have the iphone 13 and I have this issue. I also had it on my iphone 7 over two years ago so it's not iOS 17 causing it. Maybe it's related but sometimes I can't hear voice notes at all and can't raise the volume, cause the buttons don't work.

Sometimes closing whatsapp works, but not always. Once I rebooted the entire phone three times and still couldn't hear voice notes. So i left it alone. They are working at the moment.

They need to work on and remove this particular bug. It’s super annoying to every time go to volume controls and reset just to hear voice notes. 15 pro max !! Never had any issues with iPhones ever.

My iPhone 12 is doing the same thing so could be an issue with WhatsApp itself

Both need to resolve this. WhatsApp being the most used app in anyone’s phone.

I also have the same problem in iphone 15 pro.. i buy this phone 2 days ago and facing this annoying problem. Please help
