Unable to add AirPods Pro under my Apple Id.

I get the following error, though the AirPods Pro are connected and working.

"Add device to iCloud

We're unable to display coverage details because this device is missing information that can only be provided by the device owner. First pair this device to an iCloud device. You'll need to sign out then sign back into Check Coverage to view the added device.

Airpods not unlinking from old owner My dad recently gave me his older set of Airpod Pros, and I keep getting a message from the findmy app that "The owner of this item can see its location" He has gone in and removed the device from his findmy app, as well as via his apple ID under iPhone settings. On his end, it does not show up as one of his devices any longer. I have tried to hold the button on the case to reset the airpods, but every time I link it to my phone, it still gives me the message that they are still linked to his Apple ID. How can we fix this issue so that I can get them associated with my Apple ID? Thanks for any help!

Just a comment. I don't have an IPhone. Only MacBook Pro and an IPad.
