Pages Lost a Feature?

In Pages, I tried to create a custom shape, then select it along with a photo, to mask the photo with that shape. Surprise! That no longer is possible. Or is it? Or what happened to Pages?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.0

shift-select both the custom shape and the image, then tap FORMAT>IMAGE>MASK WITH SELECTION

Pages menu > Format > Image > Mask ...

So, thanks but I see the menu options too. Just rereading the question, I see it mentions that the options don't include masking with a custom shape. Snark doesn't help me.
