Stuttering sound from apple tv through sonos beam

I have an Apple TV 4K, a Sonos Beam Gen 2 and an Xgimi MoGo Pro+ projector. The Projector has only an HDMI input, the ATV has an output and the Sonos beam has another input. To make this setup work I have used an eArc splitter from the company Nedis (local Dutch brand). It works by taking 1 input and splitting it into an HDMI eArc output for the Sonos and another HDMI output for the projector. This system has worked really well for about half a year now. However, for a couple of days to a week, the sound coming from the Sonos has a really annoying stutter. All devices are updated to the latest firmware and I even performed a factory reset on the Sonos. When playing a YouTube video on the projector's Android smart TV the sound is perfect (Which is interesting as it only has an HDMI input but is able to send audio to the Sonos). Only when playing anything from the Apple TV is the sound distorted. (Airplay 2 works fine) I checked and played around with all the sound settings in the ATV, Sonos and projector, but as you might have guessed, to no avail.

If anybody has any thoughts on this, I would very much like to hear them.
