Captions won't show!

Hello Community!

I have been trying to add captions, but they are not showing. I go to the edit menu, the captions and add caption. The caption clip appears at the top of the timeline and the caption editor opens. I have already selected CEA-608 by then. Then I type my line but the subtitle won't appear on the screen. Anyone know why? Thanks in anticipation.

Is Show Caption checked on in the View menu?
