Microphone not working when plugged to AUX on iPhone 15 Pro Max

i’m seeing the original post and comments from 2023 about this issue, and it’s now july 2024 and it’s still an issue. i just upgraded from iphone 12 to the iphone 15 pro and the aux cable with USB-C does not allow the microphone to be used. cannot use voice text, siri, or talk on the phone while it’s plugged in. the speakers work and plays spotify from my phone through my car speakers, but i have to unplug to talk. i tried the suggestion about “forgetting all usb devices” and plugging it back in and choosing the “headphones” option but it still does not work for me. Apple can we please get a resolution for this issue??

I just bought the apple 3.5 mm to USB C. I have a Rode Lavalier mic (wired) and the Rode Wireless Go. Neither works! And after spending days of troubleshooting and searching for answers, I’m trying not to throw the whole phone away 😩

I have the same issue on iPhone 15 pro max. I scrolled through the comments. Some seem to find a complicated solution, but many have not. I will see if any of what I can understand will help.

I’m at the point where I will never buy an iPhone again.

I have this problem too with my iPhone 15 but it won’t even play music, tried 2 different cords now!

Can I ask what cord you used to see if it may work with mine? As I only need it for music

I did that- went to Setting > Sound & Haptics and clicked “Forget All USB Audio Accessories” but it still didn’t work. Again, music is fine and I can hear the other person if I try to call them but they still can’t hear me…..

I have also had the same issue. When using my old iphone 12 pro with lightning to aux adapter it worked perfect and my mics audio on my headphones was perfect. Now with the usb c to aux adapter plugged into my headphones i can get the audio to work, but i cant get my microphone to produce more than a muffled underwater sound.

Not yet, I am guessing if it’s a software issue they may do it on an update? Someone thought it had something to do with not switching the mike off

The microphone on my iPhone 14 Pro Max is not working correctly. It is not clear to the person I am talking with. I have called my own VM and it is not good.

And sound volume on USB-C to Aux is not nearly 60% of sound from Lightning to Aux. this is a problem for those of us greatly hearing impaired!!

I have the same issue with my iPhone 15 but the mic works for siri and voice to text but not for phone calls. I wish Apple would address this.
