Why do I need Apple Pay?

ApplePay significantly “enhances” existing credit cards.

In addition to the Face/Touch-ID secured “Tap to Pay” feature already discussed, the actual credit card number is not even stored in your phone.

So not only is the merchant not able to see your actual account number … it genuinely isn’t EVEN there to be seen or compromised.

The highest risk to a legacy credit card occurs when you physically hand it to someone else; followed closely by the legacy MagStrip “swipe.”

Apple Pay offers the Tap to Pay technology that may not be available on your Credit Card and also provides more security as your card number is not sent to the merchant. There is no cost to use Apple Pay, in fact you get cash back for using it with the Apple Card. The cash back is applied to your Cash Card.
