I've bought a Studio M2 and am installing my old files. I have painstakingly organised my Apple Music library and transferred all the folders to an external hard drive. When I import these into Apple Music lots of files are missing, the sequence is lost and my Apple Music downloads have disappeared. I'm not very pleased with the idea of having to start all over again. Is there anything I can do to retrieve my library the way it was?

Do you have a Time Machine (or other) backup that you can restore from?

I backed everything up on an external SSD disc and tried to import that. With the result described above
