How to scan with a canon printer in mac?

I wanted to add my printer which can also work as a scanner so that I could scan documents.

is there any way to do this?

If your Canon printer is AirPrint compatible (most are), then add your Printer in Settings using the Bonjour Type instead of using the drivers from Canon. If you already have your printer added to your computer, try scanning using the Image Capture app that is located in your Applications folder. If the scanner cannot be found in the Image Capture app, then check for an updated ICA driver at the Canon website for your model number.
