How to disable or erase “segments” in activities

While doing any activity, if I adjust my Apple Watch on my wrist, or if a sleeve touches it, or sometimes seemingly for no reason, my watch vibrates and a segment is recorded. It’s annoying when it happens and these phantom “segments” clutter my data. I can’t figure out how to disable the segment function, nor am I able to erase the phantom segments once they’ve recorded. Is there a way to disable segments, or at least erase them when they erroneously record?

I've had no luck getting Apple to answer questions about this. My watch will still record a phantom "segment" when accidentally touched or tapped or jarred while doing an activity, and the segments are on there like a tattoo, no way to erase or edit them. The closest workaround I've found is to start an activity then turn on "water lock" (designed for swimming or diving). It requires more button presses and maneuvering but it does prevent the phantom segments.

I don't know if Apple monitors community posts but if they do, can you please include a way to disable "segments" on activities, and add the ability to remove or edit them?
