Airpods Max White Noise

My airpods max are 3 months old. They are emitting a constant white noise on anc and transparency mode. I know that some noise is always produced with any anc pair of headphones. But I feel like this has been amplified recently after using them briefly with the cable.

Has anyone else remarked an amplification of the airpods max white noise?

Mine are a bit older, but i have the same thing. Its apparently just our ears being pretty good. Other people i ask can’t hear it. It doesn’t really bother me though, because I basically always hear something, let it be music or a video or game.

it is a static problem when charging. The drivers just take the electricity and turns it into slight white noise. That’s because when you put a finger on the left or right side of your ear on the airpods metal, the sound is gone. Because your finger conducts the flow of energy at that point. So not really a problem that can be fixed via a patch.

Hi !

Same here ...

I've had my Airpods Max for 2 years now and a few days ago they started to make a constant static noise (in the right ear only).

It is happenning no matter the mode in use (noise canceling/transparency) and no matter if something is playing or not, which is really annoying.

The Apple Support told me there is nothing they can do because this type of product is not commonly reported with bug or anything.

I hope that a software update might fix the problem (even if I have low expectations).

FYI : never dropped them, never used them in abnormal conditions or anything, they just started to make that sound overnight. I use them a lot tho.
