App shows RAIN but it’s SUNNY

Dark Sky was great: accurate, timely, no regrets … other when discontinued by Apple.

Perhaps that technology was moved into Apple’s weather App, but the results are awful

This App currently shows RAIN… but the SUN just came out

Can anybody recommend a reliable weather App… because this one simply sucks.

Bad APPLE!

Basic question first: is the selected location in the app the one where you are at the moment?

Apple is not in the business of meteorology. It gets its data from national services. You can see their list here: Feature availability and data sources in the Weather app - Apple Support

Those services don't have a report for every square meter on earth. It's a general view of an area that can cover dozens or hundreds of square kilometers, depending on the distance between weather stations. What you see at your location can be different at a certain distance.

These reports are not updated every second. If weather changes suddenly it may take 30 or 60 minutes before you see an update on your phone or computer.

I keep a link to the National Weather Service on my browser Favorites and have it configured for my local zip code. The weather reporting station is the airport which is five miles across town. Usually spot on with the current weather.

If you are in Portland, OR, your weather should be shown from the airport there too. I would have thought rain would be the norm for Portland, OR. 😎

The Apple weather data is never accurate for this location, so hardly ever use the app.
