iPhone does not focus when an app or website needs to take picture of my ID or other document

Every single time an app or website needs me to take a photo of my ID or any other document, iPhone REFUSES to focus. This has happened for years, on every iPhone model, all the way up to 15 Pro. I cannot find anyone talking about this online, but this can't just be me. I don't understand why tapping to focus is IMPOSSIBLE for Apple to figure out after all these years. Frankly, I've had enough. I'm tired. It's going on 5 hours of my life wasted on this specific problem (spread out over the years). Please, PLEASE, !!PLEASE!!, fix this in the iPhone 16 released in 2024. Thank you.
