Disabled Face ID still not working after software update

My phone dropped in the toilet today and the only thing wrong with it right away was my Face ID was disabled. I took all the steps suggested by an article by Apple support, nothing worked. I talked with apple support on the phone and she helped me backup my phone and showed me that my phone wasn’t up to date. I updated it to the latest version and Face ID still isn’t working. Nothing is broken visibly on the camera. My camera is working find both sides. What do I do now?

It is likely that the water has damaged the camera. You will need to have the phone repaired or replaced. You can make an appointment at an Apple store to have the phone examined and get an estimate for the repair.

Troubleshooting Face ID:

It may be hardware error. But, before making that assuring, perform a few things...

A. Overview these two links:


B. Report this as a Bug to Apple:

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know what exactly is occurring.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - FaceTime - Apple
  2. Select: "Report a Bug" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: on when you came across this issue, and how you have troubleshot it thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed from there as necessary
