How to delete data from iPhone?

We have a phone that is legally ours, but we’re letting a former foster child keep and we need it wiping of all our data, it we can’t find it on our apple ids

How do I wipe and recycle old iPhones without affecting original owners' iCloud data? Hi Everyone, I have some (very) old business iPhones that were given to me to reformat and recycle. I do not have the Apple password for some of them to log out of the original user's account and either way cannot get them to connect to the internet (as the iOs version is so old). I am wondering if I wipe these phones (ie restore them to factory settings) will this just wipe all the data on the old phone (photos, text messages, records of calls received and voice mail messages) and automatically disconnect/log that phone out of iCloud but without actually affecting any of the data that the original owners may have currently stored in the cloud? As it isn't connected to the internet of a network I can't do any backups and I'm assuming if it isn't connected to wifi or a network then it is basically just a paperweight with storage on a hard drive. Then if I send it for recycling no-one will be able to access any data that was originally on the phone and it will be basically a paperweight? Sorry, I am not very tech savvy. Thank you for helping. You can do it from a PC/iTunes /Mac or from the iPhone

From the iPhone in settings>general>Transfer or reset iPhone>resetErase all content and settings

Start it and set it as a new iPhone do not use backups

You can create a new Apple ID or a Family Sharing
