iMessage error: "There is no text to emergency number service available..."

I've had this problem sporadically and just finished with Apple Support getting it fixed. In my case I was using my MacBook Pro to send text messages in Messenges. I have my MacBook linked to my iPhone cellphone number. The correction to the problem was for me to go to Settings on my iPhone. Go to Messages-->Text Message Forward and flip the slider next to my MacBook Pro to off. Wait a minute, then flip it back on. I had to restart the computer and then I was able to send Messages again from my MacBook. The explanation for why it happens eluded me, but the fix worked.

I have the exact same problem. But when I go into my iPhone Settings --> Messages --> Text forwarding, there's no slider that lets me turn my computer off. So I can't follow your hack. I hope someone else is able to provide an answer. It's so weird!!

anybody find an answer??? I can find nothing within Apple community or support pages and nothing search elsewhere on web.
