apple id invalid or not supported

im trying to sign out of my iphone 4s so that i can give it to my mom but it wont let me sign out because the apple id that is logged into it no longer exists so when i try and reset the password to that apple id that doesn't exist it says "apple id invalid or not supported" so it feels hopeless and plus i keep getting pop ups on the iphone 4s that tells me to input the password to the apple id that doesn't exist and there's no bypassing it because i dont know the password!

For help with that you need to contact Apple. Click here --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support Select your country, then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

If the Apple ID dates from when you set up the Apple ID then it is quite possible it isn't even using 2-factor. The message you mention has a specific solution, which I just posted.

This Apple ID is not supported on the iPhone 4, most likely due to 2 factor authentication, the iPhone 4 is really old and dont support that.
