Command c & v displaying math symbols

I got a new 75% keyboard and it works great with the exception of using keyboard shortcuts for copy and paste. If I press command v, it will give a square root symbol instead of pasting text. Another person on the forum said this is because the keyboard is not recognizing that it is being used on a mac computer. I don't know how to change that. Has anyone had any luck?

Option v produces √ on a mac. So your machine is reading command as option. Your keyboard might have settings for this, check the people who make it. MacOS also has settings for it: Search for "Modifier Keys" in system settings.
