Cannot Share Photos in iOS 17

I was having this issue as well. Only way I got it to start working again:

1. Close out all apps.
2. Go into settings.
3. Click on the first tab under settings, it has your name / apple ID / iCloud
4. Scroll to the bottom and look for the red “Sign out” button (make sure you remember your info before clicking)
5. Click sign out.
6. Restart phone.
7. Go back into settings, click the first tab again and Sign back in.
8. Test your sharing.

I've been experiencing this issue for a couple of weeks now.

I've tried restarting the phone numerous times without solving the problem. Resetting the network connection didn't help, nor did signing out. Removing WhatsApp didn't resolve the issue either. Updating to the latest versions of the applications and iOS didn't change the situation.

HOWEVER, signing out without keeping the data on the phone AND restarting the phone afterward seems to do the trick!

I'll continue observing the behavior of the sharing feature, but for now, it works as it should.

I own iPhone 11, ios 17.2.1

On Feb 28, 2024 I can’t share photos on socials or gmail, after updating to iOS 17. I relay on photo sharing for work and personal life. If Apple doesn’t fix this soon, removing this basic functionality from ios17 means I’ll go Android.

Its 27March 2024, I blame myself from upgrading my software from ios16 to ios17.4.1, the share function is not working at all, I have tried all I could but no solution, I can’t share documents, pics or anything across the apps. And my documents app and all apps I use for reading keep crashing and freezing. At this point I am losing it, and would rather switch to Android, IPhone is just not what it used to be

I wasn’t able to send a picture in text, I could receive them but not send them. tried all the suggestions down to completely resetting my phone turning it off and starting over. That did not work.

Finally:

1. turned off mms
2. turned on airplane mode
3. Powered down phone
4. powered phone on
5. turned off airplane mode
6. turned on mms

Now idk if you need to do all these things or even in this order but I had been trying everything for 6 hours and after I did the above in that order is when I could finally send a picture in text!

Only thing that has worked for me, and is the least hassle to try, is simply as stated prior:

1. Disable MMS under messaging
2. Turn on airplane mode
3. reboot phone
4. turn off airplane mode
5. Turn on MMS
6. Wait about a minute
7. Then send pictures.

Looks like iOS 17.2 has silently fixed this for me. Hopefully for you as well.

13 Pro has been updated to 17.2 and the issue persists for me. Unable to share photos. I tried restarting my phone severals times and it hasn’t worked.

23 Feb 2024. Still a problem.

Is not beacuse IOS version (or not only).

On my Iphone 15 PRO this problem appear after I transfered via bluetooth the old phone data.

The only fix was to erase and restore from icloud instead bluetooth.

I am having the same issue on an 11 Pro. Can’t send pictures in text or Facebook Messenger without trying repeatedly for about 5 minutes per picture. I will try logging in and out of iCloud. I saw this happened on an iOS 14 update, too, and the fix was going in and out of airplane mode. I will try that as well.
