Just upgraded Safari and now now audio website's players won't initialize or load videos. In fact the browser won't even acknowledge simple roll over commands.
How can I go back to the previous version?

You can't. Safari is installed as part of the Mac's operating system. You can try reinstalling the OS. Or you can install and use another less problematic browser such as Firefox.

I don't know about that. I have used Firefox with Safari for years. Never a problem. It is well supported by its creators and works fine with Macs. And there are certainly a number of other fine browsers out there to choose from.
Thank you. I stopped using FFF when it released its statement years ago that it would no longer support macOS back in 2009.
So, I never used it after that.
