What could be preventing my Mac from being authorized on Apple TV?

Why won't apple TV allow my APPLE COMPUTER WHICH HAS AN APPLE ITUNES ACCOUNT be authorized to view Apple TV? I've changed my password, I've authorized the computer in account settings. What other area do I need to click?

Can't view apple tv on my apple computer. Fix it.

Viewing Apple TV content doesn’t require authorizing the computer. The authorizing is for content downloads.

The TV app on Mac does require signing in to the TV app through the Account menu in the app. That is separate from the (iCloud) Apple ID account in System Settings.

What is your model Apple computer? What is its version macOS?
