Unable to sign in to Apple TV on MacBook Pro running macOS Big Sur

I changed my password, and checked its functionality in other apple account venues, and on other devices. The problem seems localized to the MBP which is on Big Sur 11.7.10. Which is as far as it can go.

Original Title: On my MBP I suddenly do not have access to Apple TV+. It won't let me sign in to my account. I have checked my password. It works everywhere else. Any suggestions for a solution? Thanks.

The TV app on a Mac has its own sign-in, separate from system wide iCloud and registering:

  • through the menu Account of the TV app, or
  • using the Apple Account section near the bottom of the side bar of the main window of the TV app.

Try signing out, then signing in again immediately, if you were already signed in there. That should refresh the Apple Account properties, including valid subscriptions and purchases.
