Our printer has been in use for a long time. Today when we try to print from iPhones it says “no AirPrint Printers found.
restarted the printer and verified it is connect to the same WiFi as the phone. Not sure what to test next

You may want to try a full power-cycle sequence (including the router, in this order, with these waiting times)?
Power off the Wi-Fi router, the printers, the iPhone, and all other devices/computers. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the router. Wait two to three minutes. Power on the printers. Wait a minute or two. Power on the iPhone. Finally, power on all other devices/computers.
Are you using a VPN on the iPhone?
Have you checked whether the printer has been updated to the latest firmware version?
Also, it would help to know the exact printer model.

Thank you I will try that. Our router was old enough I couldn’t see what devices were attached so I also upgraded and will try again.
