Mac with a Lock on it at Boot:
A. Take this to Apple:
There is a Firmware Password, and you must enter it to get in. IF you have forgotten it, set up a Genius Bar Appointment at your local Apple Store. Go here: Set a Firmware Password on your Mac - Apple Support
B. Is this a Used Mac?
If this is a used Mac, then you must ask the person who locked it to enter it for you.
C. Don't Let Others Log In:
IF a firmware password has been set by someone while you were aside from your laptop, then they may have licked you out.
