Driving me BANANAS! 'save as' finder window doesn't show name of files!

Someone PLEASE help me with this. I don't know how it changed and it's making me cuckoo. When I do a save as, the finder window ONLY sorts/buckets by date. I never set this up to do this. And name of file is not even a choice for menu bar. I want to sort by name. Help.

"Recent Places" in finder no longer visible when saving a file I am running an iMac with OS 15.1.1. When saving files, I used to be able to see a list of "Recent Places" folders in the drop down menu when saving files in the finder window (location). Recently the "Recent Places" list has just vanished. I'm not sure if this occurred due to an update. I used this feature constantly to quickly save files to a recently saved folder. Does anyone know how to control this or get it back? Thank you.

Files and Folders in Save Dialogues are sorted randomly In MacOS 12 Monterey Files and Folders in Save Dialogues are sorted randomly. If I want to save a file in the Save dialogue using Column View, suddenly the files and folders are sorted randomly. I turned off "Arrange By" but there is no "Sort By" button. I can only sort by name if I use List View, which doesn't show me the entire folder structure. I have seen others ask this question here but nobody has provided and answer. I have looked in Finder Preferences and System Preferences but I can't find the option to change it back to how it always used to be. This makes things really difficult where there are many files and folders with similar names and I don't know if I'm going to either save the file in the wrong folder. Opening files in Column View is even worse. I have to basically preview every file to know which one I'm seeing because all of the files are in random order. Please help by explaining a fix for this. MacOS never used to work this way.

Click on the button to the left of Documents and choose None.

What you see is highlighted meaning it can be edited to whatever file name you choose.

Generally you don't sort and name at the same time; save the file then sort in Finder.

I'm trying to sort within my documents folder to find another folder, but I can't sort by name. I don't get it.
