I know my password for my Apple ID, but my Mac book will not accept it. I signed into my icloud on my browser successfully.

I am trying to install something on my computer. It asks me to type in my apple ID and password. It says my password is incorrect, even though it is not incorrect. I cannot even sign out and sign back in.

Mac won’t accept Apple ID password Ok, so I just got this hand me down Mac from my sister, she cleared it completely and had me sign in, but after we had completed the sign in process it kept asking for the Apple ID password, it kept sayin it was wrong (which it wasn’t) so we checked it out on my phone and websites and apps that I signed in with, it was correct. But it wouldn’t sign in we restarted it like 12000 times but it still didn’t work, and my Apple ID does this almost all the time… I’ve tried every solution I’ve found online and other conversations but nothing works. if you hv an answer, pleeaaasssseee help 🙏🏾

Repeat request for Apple ID I bought a new MacBook Air recently. Tried to open a Book but the window keeps coming up requesting my Apple ID password. It would not accept the password which I know is correct. Frustrated, I changed the password but still would not accept it. Has anyone else come up with the same problems?

I understand you confirmed your Apple ID credentials are correct by signing in to iCloud (for example) but your password does not work when attempting to install something on your Mac.

Installing an app on a Mac requires your Mac's login credentials, which are not necessarily the same as your Apple ID. What happens when you log out of that Mac and attempt to log in again?
