Repeat request for Apple ID

I bought a new MacBook Air recently. Tried to open a Book but the window keeps coming up requesting my Apple ID password. It would not accept the password which I know is correct. Frustrated, I changed the password but still would not accept it. Has anyone else come up with the same problems?

Yes it is the same.

And Media & Purchases is the same on the Mac as well. It is not unusual for older accounts to use a different Apple ID for Media & Purchases.

You can also check the account used by Books on both your Mac and iPhone by going to the Books app and tapping your user icon. If those accounts are the same and you can view the book on your iPhone, then it should be the same on your Mac. Further troubleshooting can be done in the Books app on each platform by seeing if the same book shows up as purchased when viewing your account information.
