How to label function keys with the actual function instead of F1, F2...

I am using M2 MacbookPro with Ventura 13.5.2.

System Settings>Keyboard>Keyboard>TouchBarSettings gives access to the touch bar controls.

I have set " touch bar shows" to "expanded control strip", and

"press and hold function key to " to "show F1, F2, keys".

Question: is there a way to label the function keys with actual description instead of "F1" etc?

Thanks.

For instance if F1 was reallocated to "open apple mail" (example only) then it would make sense to re-label it as "open mail" or something similar.

There is no functionality for this, as far as I know; and, since new macs no longer have a touchbar,

I do not expect any new developments in that direction. I actually like the touchbar, but alas it was an idea that did not reach its full possibilities and has now been abandoned.
