MacBook dock magnification not working

I have seen a few posts on the internet about the dock magnification not working for some people. I had an issue with it too and found, like everyone else, messing with the settings in system preferences doesn't help.

However I have found a fix to this. Just open up Terminal and type in "killall Dock". Note that the 'D' in "Dock" needs to be in uppercase otherwise it won't work. Hope this helps someone.

Thanks for spreading the word. It will help many for certain. Excellent job troubleshooting!

The manual way to do this:

  1. Go to: Apple menu
  2. Click: Desktop & Dock
  3. Drag: Size to the far-right
  4. Drag: Magnification to the far-right
