I have a 2014 mac mini with Linux(ubuntu) installed on it. I want to know if I can connect a egpu though thunderbolt 2 since that's all it has. not sure if this will help but I plan on pairing a rx 580 with it. Thank You All.

Hi, GUMMEDenvelopes ( hope I spelled your name correct) … my best answer for a Sunday is “maybe/ perhaps”… you’d need a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 1/2,adapter that’s bidirectional.Apple makes a dandy one, apparently… So, get that one… also check out http:// eGPU.io for eGPU help ( it’s a website) there are loads of eGPU users there with experience who can help you out better than I can..
