looking to turn off formula and error checking

Hi and top of the morning all. This one is not too big on my list, but anyway...

just wondering...

is there a way to temporarily disable automatic calculations in Apple’s Numbers? perhaps turn it off momentarily, to speed up edit cells, especially on larger sheets. I feel it will be cool to switch between modes. The only walk around I have so far, is to let it run through updating sheet and then going unto next cell. If you edit to many cells, you can really bug it down.

Oh, how about your remedies... that's welcome too.

thanks in anticipation to your replies.

I see... Acknowledged; and I'm pretty sure it is with reasons. So, it helps to plan accordingly since it's not possible. I'll take the advice about working with a new document , copying and pasting back in. Lastly, some mindfulness about efficiency could help too. For example using less of function that calculate all the time, perhaps using one instance of a function and then use references to it. For instance, I used to call the NOW() or today() functions a whole bunch.
