Charging MacBook with 20W iPhone Charger: Meltdown Alert

I’ve been using my iPhone’s 20W charger for over a year, and I never had an issue with it. I used it for iPhone 11 and now for iPhone 15 Pro.

Since the cable now matches the MacBook’s cable, I plugged my MacBook Air with the 20W charger, to see how long will it take to charge.

It was less than 20 minutes when I noticed that the charger got supper hot, so I removed it from electricity, and I noticed that it started melting near the Type C cable plug.

I am not sure what is the actual problem, as the reason iPhone went to type C, is actually, to be able to use the same charger for all devices… I don’t see that happening.
