Texted Videos Do Not Play iPhone 15 PM / iOS 17

Fixed with most recent IOS update (as of Feb 6, 2024), at least on my wife's 15!

It was crazy -- even videos she made herself would not play on her iphone15 -- but, when sent them to me, they would play on my trusty ol' 11.

Yes, it's a shame Apple doesn't respond to issues like this on its own forum. But, at least it is fixed... and I hope for y'all as well.

I am having the same issue. I found that if I copy the video and then send it to myself in messenger it will play.

i did not try restarting my phone. I will do that

I shut my phone off and restarted it again, and now my video plays. I don’t know if they will keep playing all the time but at least now I can see my grandson play with his new race track.

Restart your phone, it should fix the issue.

I am having the saem issue and also any videos that I take using my iPhone will not play on that iPhone. I can send them to someone and they are able to play them so I know the issue isn't with the recording but somewhere in the playback.

Any feedback on this? It’s happening regularly on iPhone 15 Pro Max running 17.2.1.

Cant watch videos even if I download it to the phone it wont play. Restarting the phone works. It was happening occasionally but not is happening much more regularly.

They are not replying because they don't know how to fix the problem, probably because they are too arrogant to see they have a problem. The big problem is they have blinders on. If you're not trained in the company way of operations your phone does not work properly. It is designed to be operated the way a programmer would use it, not the way most people use it. It's call operational bias, and Apple is too arrogant and blind to seek to understand their customers. We're just here to fund their interest, they have no concern for you or me.

I have iPhone15 Pro and iOS 17.2.1 and the issue persists. I have to turn my phone off and on to get it play. I don't remember having this issue on my iPhone12. I miss Steve Jobs. He would not have let this happen.

I have been having the same issue so I did what I always do with technology - reboot and videos will now play. I must say, I do not think I should have to reboot my $1,200 phone every time I want to play a video!

Why are there no replies to this?

I’m having the same issues as well as the microphone for voice texting also doesn’t work. They happen together and only solution is restarting the phone.

Having the same issue, I also can't open attachments sent to me via email.
