13.6.2 Update not found?

Hello,

I was told that 13.6.2 was the latest update for Ventura. However, my macbook pro (2019) does not show it as an option. My laptop is currently running 13.6.1, but for some reason my apps believe it to be a beta version of the OS. (Which would make sense why my other app keeps crashing saying that it doesn't work with my version of the OS.)

Speaking with someone on support, they told me that my laptop can update to 13.6.2, but other places I see that it's only available for other laptops (M1-M3 chip?).

Would my best option to "fix" my laptop is to update to Sonoma?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.5

First, 13.6.2 is not available for Intel Macs. !3.6.1 would be the correct version. If System Settings > General > Software Update doesn't show you are running a beta, you aren't. The issue you are having with certain apps may just be a compatibility issue.

Upgrading to Sonoma would likely just complicate your troubleshooting issues by introducing even more compatibility issues.

You may want to run EtreCheck and post the report here so we can examine it for clues.

Make sure your third party apps are completely up to date and are actually compatible with Ventura.

FWIW, 13.6.2 is only available for MacBook Pro (2021 and later) and iMac (2023).

Looking at your report you have too little available space on the drive (<30GB on a 1TB drive). You need to free up some space. It's usually recommended to have 20% free.

If that helps Twitter I can't say. I don't use it.

That's the problem. I can't run it. My Twitter for Mac app started crashing recently (after updating to 13.6.1, it was perfectly fine before.)... So I tried to run the EtreCheck to see if anything was wrong, and this message kept popping up.

It shows 105.99 "Available Space" not "Free". In any case, 20% of 1TB is 200GBs.

I see, understood.

I just got a new 2TB external to use as my time machine back up. So I'll use the old one (1TB) after reformatting it as a regular external to move files over.
