Sudden Increased Line Spacing on iPhone

Dear Community Members,

For about 2 weeks, I've been experiencing an inexplicable issue with my iPhone, and I'm hoping you can help me out. The line spacing in texts has suddenly increased, affecting all iPhone services (Settings, Outlook, WhatsApp, etc. -> see screenshot attached for an example how it looks now). Especially in longer messages, this change is somewhat inconvenient.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out what caused this increased line spacing and how to reduce it. Any hints or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I found this on Reddit and this seems to hold true for current versions of iOS: “Do you have more than one preferred language on your phone? I had the same problem and it was fixed after removing all other languages as a preferred language in my settings.”
