Unable to Share my Location

I have enabled share my location in both privacy and security, and find my iPhone settings.

If I attempt to share my location with someone, they never receive the request to do so. If someone requests to share their location with me, I get notified about it, but when I tap 'share' then 'share indefinitely', it does a quick load, and nothing happens. The request just stays there.

How do I fix this?

I am having the same issue. I have done everything I have seen posted here. I can send a share location request to my wife and it shows up, but when she clicks the share button my phone never sees the reply and the share dialog never disappears.

In comparing the two phones, my phone that sends the request, has a button at the bottom of her contact page that says Share my Location and her contact page for me does not have that button. The buttons (selections) in her contact page for me are:

Send Message

Share Contact

Add to Favorites

Add to Emergency Contacts

Share my Location

The selections on my contact page on her phone are:

Send Message

Share Contact

Add to Favorites

Add to Emergency Contacts

Block this Caller

No selection for Share my Location

Why the difference and/or what setting needs to be changed, or set to make them the same??

Hey all. I had the same thing happen. Luckily I work in IT and am stubborn as heck and think I figured it out.

Essentially while Find My iPhone says it was on, it was not actually enabled for my specific iPhone device. I found this about by logging into my iCloud account from the web, opening "Find My" and seeing that my phone was not listed. Thus, it would see the request but when you click "share" it gets stuck as the feature isn't enabled on the device yet.

What worked for me is going to Settings > Apple ID Profile (top option) > Scroll down and select my iPhone device > Find My iPhone (On).

After that I went back and clicked the same "Share" request it got stuck on before and it went right through.

Hope this helps!

It is not clear from your post the process you are using to share your location with others.

Open the Find My app and select the People tab. Tap the Add button . Select Share My Location. Enter the name or phone number of the person that you want to share your location with. See the pic below.
