Automation fails to send notification

Hey folks,

I have a simple automation - at 10:00 AM, daily, I fetch my wrist temperature from Health app, and I want to display it in a notification.

The automation works when I test it, when I press the Play button. In the screenshot below you can see the automation itself, and the notification which was generated when I pressed the Play button.

However, in the morning, at 10AM, I simply don't get any notification (it's set to "Run Immediately"). I even added the little extra notification "Notify when run", and in that case I do get the notification saying that the automation is running, but again I don't actually get the notification with my wrist temperature. So the thing tells me it ran the automation, but it actually didn't. I don't get it why this doesn't work on schedule, because it works when I just test it.

I get the notification at the set time.

What you showed is your shortcut. Does the automation include both the time and the shortcut?

The picture above is from an iPad (iPadOS 17), on the iPhone (iOS 16) it's presented a bit differently (my phone is in French but you get the idea):

BTW your shortcut doesn't need to create an intermediary variable, you can directly round Health Samples.

Hey,

yeah it’s an automation triggered at 10am.

But it’s not a shortcut. The whole logic is built in the automation. What I might try is to make a shortcut and then run that shortcut at a given time, rather than to “expand” that whole logic inside automation. But that sounds silly, why wouldn’t it work even if the logic is directly embedded into automation, rather than if the logic is in a shortcut and then shortcut is ran at a given time.

I’ll see if that might work :)
