Macbook shows the wrong date and time

Macbook pro 16 inch

2.4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, macOS sonoma

My macbook turned off last night due to low battery, which is fine. However, when I connected it and turned it on in the morning, the date and time were wrong (May 10th, 2023). I set the date and time manually, and it worked fine but whenever I switch back to 'set time and date automatically,' it goes back to May 2023. I have tried restarting, signing off iCloud, change time servers, etc, nothing works

The SMC reset procedures are only for Intel Macs. With Silicon Macs, there is nothing that needs to be done other than restart. The steps you need to perform depend on if it is a Laptop, Desktop, or if it has a T2 chip. While typically for Power Management or fan issues, it is a basic reset for trouble with Intel Macs along with the PRAM.

What time does it reset to?

I assume you have verified the region?
