Why I can’t update my app I don’t surpos to pay for it

If you don't have a payment method on your account, you may not be able to download apps. Even "free" ones (which are often like vending machines due to "in-app purchases" / "subscriptions").

If you are just downloading a "free" app and not making a "subscription" or "in-app purchases" I don't believe that your payment method will be charged. But you need to have one on file.

You must have a payment registered for any apps that support in app purchases, even if the app is free.
