I've tried some of the suggestions- I dot see where to "right click" above the folder (dont have right click either), tried the "control & subject suggestion to check flagged.
I have several flagged emails, but folder on mail empty. Ventura 13.6.

Try selecting all of the mailboxes in the sidebar and use the Mailbox ➙ Rebuild option. Let it run for about 5 or more minutes.
Click on the top mailbox in the sidebar, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar, hold down the Shift key and click on the last mailbox. Then go to the Mailbox ➙ Rebuild menu option.

I apologize & appreciate the suggestions. I dont understand why thumbnails you mean. do I highlight the mail box somehow & say rebuild? How do I select all the mailboxes to rebuild?
